I have had the great blessing of getting to be a pastor and shepherd for the wonderful people of People’s EC Church and the greater Lehighton community in northeast PA.  The years have been filled with great celebrations, rejoicing in seeing God at work in ways that still amaze me.  

 

If I’m being honest though, between the celebrations there were a lot of times of struggle and self-doubt.  I had an amazing seminary experience getting a Master of Divinity from Kairos University and learned as much as I could on the instruction in God’s Word and yet there were many times along the way where I encountered situations that I felt unprepared and inadequate to handle.  I felt the weight and burden of the impact of the decisions I needed to make in these situations.  I felt the self-induced pressure to try to do everything that I possibly could for the church, my wife, and my kids. At the end of the day, it never felt like there was quite enough of me to do everything I felt I should and God had to speak to me through the heart palpitations I began to have as the stress mounted.

 

I am still pastoring today because I have a loving and caring congregation that stepped up and stepped in and because I was blessed to have some amazing mentors, coaches, and Kairos faculty members to come alongside of me and guide me.  The coaching and guidance I received as I worked through my own issues, and ones that popped up in ministry, was nothing short of life changing for me.  It convinced me that no pastor should ever try to do ministry alone.  Pastoring is NOT a solo sport!

 

Birthed out of my own personal experience is Kingdom Advancement Coaching.  It is my desire to come alongside of other pastors and provide the same great coaching that I was blessed with. I want to make it so that no pastor needs to walk alone.  I want every pastor to have a sounding board, partner, and friend in ministry to help guide them.  As a Contextualization Partner of Kairos University, Kingdom Advancement participants have the amazing opportunity to be a part of the Kairos community through access to a variety of learning experiences and learning resources.
